I got the idea for this painting at a wedding reception where the flower girls wore similar dresses. Instead, I saw them as miniature ballerinas nervous and excited about their upcoming performance. Their emotions just jump off the paper. As a contemporary impressionist I am continuously interpreting the things I see and experience in real life into my art. Sometimes the result is very literal and sometimes it is just the impression of the reality.
